What does debt abuse mean?
Attorney Sergei Lemberg talks about debt abuse and your rights.
They call me on Saturday and Sunday as well as twice a day during the week. I never answer, but now that I know it is illegal for them to contact me on non-business days I think I may just have to report them!
Called me again after assuring me 3X the week previously they would “make note of the number no longer belonging to (name here)” . Same female voice has called each time as well as today and I told her I’d already told her that the number wasn’t whomever’s, and to stop calling. Now I just simply blocked the number.
they called my home several times looking for someone I don’t know. I finally told them if they call again I’d sue them under Fair Debt Collection Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act. As soon as I hung up they called back under a different phone number asking for the same person other number 713-460-3114
A woman, highly accented english called me from this number asking for someone who obviously had the number before. The caller said the matter was “highly personal”. When I told her that the number was given to me when I received new service several months ago, she apologized and hung up.
